SACJTC Board Members



Dr. Linda Thomas-Glover, a native of Orangeburg, SC, was appointed the fourth President of Eastern Shore Community College effective June 1, 2009. Prior to that time she was at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College (ECTC), in Elizabethtown, KY where she served as Provost/CAO for five years. Her academic credentials include a BS degree in chemistry from South Carolina State College, a MS degree in Medicinal Chemistry from the State University of New York at Buffalo and she earned a doctorate in chemistry from Temple University, located in Philadelphia, PA.

Dr. Thomas-Glover began her postsecondary teaching experiences in 1986 at Bennett College in Greensboro, NC as an assistant professor of chemistry where she taught general chemistry, biochemistry and physical science courses. Joining the faculty at Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC), Jamestown, NC in 1990, she served as Physical Sciences department chair, was appointed to serve as Science and Mathematics Division Chair in 1998 and in 2002 competed in a national search to become the Vice President of Instruction at GTCC.

She has spearheaded the development of new instructional programs and also conducted workforce training. Dr. Thomas-Glover has demonstrated successes in establishing and strengthening partnerships with K-12 and transfer institutions. Having served on numerous reaffirmation committees, she is well versed in the requirements of the Commission on Colleges Southern Association of Colleges and School (SACS) policies.

A W. Dallas Herring Fellow, Dr. Thomas-Glover was selected to participate in the 2003 North Carolina Community College System Future Presidents Institute, was selected as a mentee in the Lakin Institute for Mentored Leadership in 2007 and was also a recipient of the Guilford Technical Community College Board of Trustees Teaching Innovation Award.

Currently, she is a member of the Melfa Rotary Club, serves on the Board of Directors of the Eastern Shore of Virginia Chamber of Commerce and the Virginia Space Flight Academy.

She is married to Rodney Glover and they have one daughter, Patrice.
