Dr. George D. Edwards has served as President/CEO of Big Sandy Community and Technical College since 2000. BSCTC, one of 16 colleges in the Kentucky Community and Technical College System, is located in eastern Kentucky and primarily serves the citizens of Pike, Floyd, Martin, Magoffin, and Johnson counties. The College represents the consolidation of two institutions, Prestonsburg Community College and Mayo Technical College, which was approved by the Commission on Colleges in January, 2004. Dr. Edwards has over 27 years of experience in teaching and administration at 4 different community colleges in Virginia and Kentucky. He has served as the Kentucky representative to the SACJTC board since January, 2006 and he was elected as secretary-treasurer for the association effective in January, 2007. |
